1814 document of the 2nd Elite Corps of Virginia Militia
1814 "Provision Return" document of a "Company of Artillery" attached to the 2nd Elite Corps of the Virginia Militia from October 1814. Garrisoned in Charles City County, the commander of the 2nd Elite Corps of the Virginia Militia was Colonel Moses Green.
At the time, the unit was garrisoned at Camp Holly (near New Market) and entries pertain to forage requirements for the regiment's horses, Rations for the soldiers, and a morning report for October 3d, 1814.
Measures roughly 13" x 8" and has wear as shown in the photographs.

"Moses Green came into Court and made the following declaration: District of Virginia, Caroline County Sct. On this 14th day of May 1822, personally appeared in Open Court being a Court of Record for the County aforesaid Moses Green aged about 68 years, resident in said County, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath declare, that he served in the Revolutionary War as follows: That he enlisted as a Soldier in the 2nd Virginia Regiment in February 1777, in King & Queen [King and Queen] County Virginia; that he served under Colo. William Brent; that he joined the Nothern Army at Valley Forge, where the Brigade was commanded by General [Peter] Muhlenberg; that he served three years in the Nothern Army, and was in the Battles of Stoney Point [sic: Stony Point 16 Jul 1779 and Monmouth [28 Jun 1778], and also took the following Oath, I do solemnly swear that I was a resident Citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift sale or in any manner disposed of my property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress entitled “an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War” passed on the 18th day of March 1818 and that I have not nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities contracts or debts due to me nor have I any income other than what is contained in the Schedule hereto annexed. Sworn to & declared on the 14th day of May 1822 before the Superior Court of the County aforesaid, The applicant is extremely indigent and owns no property..."
