Abram POUCHER, Born Claverack, Columbia, NY., Age - 20; 5' 7"; Complexion - light; Eyes - Blue; Hair - Light; Occupation - Clerk. He was enrolled in Company A, 14th Reg't, N.Y. State Militia , on April 18, 1861, for the Duration of the War. He was wounded in Action, Aug 29, 1862 during the Battle of 2nd Bull Run. On Sept 21, 1862, he died in Hospital at Alexandria due to secondary Hemorrhage from the Amputation of the thigh. In the Reformed Church Cemetery at Claverack is his gravestone with the inscription as follows: "Abram Poucher, only son of Henry, wounded at Manassas and died Sept 21, 1862 "
