Mid-1880's to early 1890's cabinet card of a Fort Niobrara, Nebraska Infantry Bandsman & metal insignia! 1881 helmet on the table. Also note the shoulder knots and belt plate.The cabinet card is marked by Bloom, who is listed as being active in Valentine, Nebraska, a small town just South of Fort Niobrara. Wear as shown.
Also included is an Indian War musicians insignia, which is in fine condition as shown. Nice combination for display.

Fort Niobrara, Nebraska:
Established 22 Apr 1880 to protect settlers from hostile Sioux Indians and to oversee the Spotted Tail Indian Agency. Abandoned on 22 Oct 1906 as a military post but remained a cavalry remount station until 1911. Turned over to the Department of Interior in 1912.
