THE STATE OF ALABAMA
Lawrence County, SS:
TO ANY SHERIFF OF THE STATE
AN INDICTMENT having been found at the September Term, 1865, of the Circuit Court of
Lawrence county against Jerry Madding (Coloured)
for the offense of Horse Stealing
You are therefore commanded forthwith to arrest the said defendant, and common him to Jail, unless he give bail to answer such indictment; and that you return this writ according to law. Dated this 10th, day of October 1865
