1st Massachusetts Heavy Artillery 2nd Corps Badge/ID Badge
Pair of 1st Massachusetts Heavy Artillery 2nd Corps Badge/ID Badges belonging to Joseph Hodgkins of Co. D. He was wounded on June 16th, 1864 and taken POW on the same date. There are two badges, the larger of the two measures roughly 1.5" wide by 1.25" tall, the smaller one 3/4" wide x 3/4" tall.
Both are in very fine condition, with wear as shown. The smaller badge also a 2nd Corps badge, has Hodgkins initials "J.E.H." and "Parkson" engraved on it. Copies of research are included.

Member of GAR Post # 50 (Union) in Peabody, MA

Died 5/14/1888 in Peabody, MA

After the war, he lived in South Danvers, MA
